Economic spring in Neuruppin: The secret of the green box
Hundreds of business owners, association representatives, and local politicians from across Ostprignitz-Ruppin celebrated together on Monday at the Economic Spring event in Neuruppin. The focus was an ominous box brought along by District Administrator Ralf Reinhardt (SPD), the host.
More than 38 years of experience
Neuruppin. The bright green box was impossible to miss. Ralf Reinhardt, the district administrator of Ostprignitz-Ruppin, had it set up on the table in front of him as soon as he stepped onto the stage.
The box and the story behind it were the highlight of the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district's economic spring event on Monday afternoon. Dozens of entrepreneurs, businesspeople, company bosses, mayors, district administrators, association representatives, and local politicians met for networking over sparkling wine and appetizers on the grounds of the upper secondary school on Alt Ruppiner Allee in Neuruppin.

County Commissioner Reinhardt arrived just in time with his green box. Right on schedule for the reception, the building authority of the district administration was able to give the green light for one of the largest investments in the Temnitzpark industrial and commercial area. Inside the box, Ralf Reinhardt had the building permit for the new meat processing plant that the company Hacilar plans to build in Temnitzpark near Werder.
Hacilar has been processing beef, lamb, and poultry on a large scale in Berlin since 1988. The company had recently become so successful that it urgently needed more space. After some searching, the owners found it in Temnitzpark.
For about five years, Thomas Kresse, the director of the Temnitz district office, and the Temnitzpark development company have been negotiating with the Berlin-based entrepreneurs about their relocation plans. The company purchased a plot of land some time ago. A new production facility employing around one hundred people is planned for the site.
Recently, there have been some disagreements regarding the building application.
Most recently, only a few discrepancies remained regarding the building application. The company submitted the initial documents in 2023, and the last missing documents in February 2025. Afterward, the district administration made every effort to review these documents as quickly as possible.
